- control is flipped to people not news providers
- more news will be funded through many different services and access points
- there would be no chance of a monopoly
- when it comes to blogs, they're an inexpensive way to obtain news

CONS

-no one will buy newspapers anymore, even though they are the best source for authentic information
- people might not know what to believe with all the news that might not be news
- local TV stations and newspapers will have to struggle to keep up with national networks that have the resources to provide the most breaking news online
- people won't get the whole story, just what they want to read
- there will be a lot of different viewpoints
- credibility comes into questions
- must have internet access to use online news
